The famous tourist attraction in Alleppey is the backwater houseboats. Very well designed in two three and four bedroom boats with food served to the tourists taste. you can get the traditional kerala food and anything upto chinese food. Visiting the toddy shops on the banks and enjoying the traditional coconut toddy is included in the package. Tourists can hire these houseboats for the day or the night. Fishing also is allowed while on the tour.

The QAFCO Flower Show 2008

The QAFCO Flower show conducted by Qatar Fertiliser Company (A subsidary of Qatar Petroleum) gets a number of visitors. The major events are display of flowers and vegetables including vegetable carving, butter carving etc which are a competition event as well. These photos were taken during my last visit to the show.

Flora in Simaisma

These yellow flowering plants are found on the dry beach of simaisma, on the way to Alkhor. A good place for picnic and other events. We can see various spots where crabs are caught and cooked in the beach itself. It is a good fishing spot but i like to explore the beach when the sea is on low tide.
